Using Headphones with Your ZVOX SoundBase
If you’d like to use headphones with your ZVOX SoundBase, here’s what you need to know about which models support them and how to connect headphones to your TV.
Which SoundBase Models Support Headphones?
Only the SoundBase 570, 670, and 770 are designed to support headphones. Wired headphones or a Bluetooth audio transmitter can be plugged into the 3.5mm stereo output on the back of the speaker. On these models, headphones only work while the speaker itself is playing, so you can’t mute the speaker and listen through headphones alone.
These models can receive Bluetooth audio, but they can’t send it to Bluetooth headphones. If you’d like to use Bluetooth headphones, you’ll need a Bluetooth transmitter plugged into the 3.5mm output.
The SoundBase 220, 320, 330, 350, 420, 440, and 450 do not support headphones, since they have no audio output.
Want to Listen Through Headphones Only?
If you’d like to mute the speaker and listen through headphones, most of our AccuVoice TV speakers offer a Headphone Mode that does exactly that. None of the SoundBase models have this feature.
Connecting Headphones to Your TV
If your SoundBase doesn’t support headphones, you may be able to connect them to your TV instead. Most TVs have a digital audio output, and many also have an analog audio output. Your SoundBase usually connects to the digital output, so if your TV has an unused analog output, you can use it for headphones.
- Wireless headphones: Connect the wireless headphone transmitter to your TV’s analog audio output.
- Wired headphones: Standard wired headphones need a dedicated headphone output and won’t play properly from a TV’s analog audio output. To use them, connect a standalone headphone amplifier to the TV’s analog output, then plug your headphones into the amplifier.
- Bluetooth headphones: Many modern TVs have Bluetooth built in, so you can stream audio directly to Bluetooth headphones. To set this up, go to your TV’s Sound menu, then Sound Output.
