For most TVs, your ZVOX will start working right when it is plugged in - it's really that simple! However, some TVs may require a couple of quick adjustments to get the best performance.
If your ZVOX and TV supports HDMI ARC and you use this connection method, the TV should automatically configure the settings - it is truly plug and play.
The most common settings you might need to change:
- Sound Output Setting - Some TVs require that you change the sound output setting to match the connection your ZVOX is plugged into. For instance "Optical," "External," "Audio System," "Use Wired Speaker," or "Audio Out."
- Audio Format - If you have an AV120 model, you'll need to change the TV's audio output format to PCM for optimal performance. This is also recommended for other models to prevent volume fluctuations between channels.
- Audio Out Setting - If you have an older TV and you are connecting to the headphone jack or RCA jack, we recommend changing the Audio Out setting from Variable to Fixed. This will ensure that the ZVOX gets a good strong audio signal.
These settings are easy to find and adjust using the remote that came with your TV. Most TVs have these options in their Sound or Audio menus, and the process typically takes just a minute or two.
