Follow the troubleshooting steps below if you are having trouble getting your HDMI ARC equipped ZVOX to work with your HDMI ARC compatible TV.
1. Check HDMI Cable Connection
Make sure the HDMI cable is plugged into the HDMI jack labeled ARC, Output, or eARC on your TV. If another device is plugged into this jack, unplug it and plug it into a different jack. The ZVOX will only work if it is plugged into the ARC/eARC jack.
2. Verify ZVOX Input Setting
The ZVOX should automatically switch to the HDMI input, but double-check that it did. Press the input button on the ZVOX remote until you see "HD" or "ARC."
3. Configure TV Sound Settings
Change the Sound Output setting in your TV's sound settings menu. This setting may need to be changed from TV speakers to receiver, HDMI ARC, or ZVOX. While you are in the TV's sound settings, change the Digital Audio Output Format to PCM. The ZVOX is compatible with Dolby 5.1 and PCM digital audio. If your TV is set to an incompatible audio format, the ZVOX will not work.

4. Enable CEC (Consumer Electronics Control)
Your TV may have a setting to enable or disable CEC (Consumer Electronics Control). This setting needs to be turned ON. On most TVs this setting will be ON by default, but on some TVs, it may be OFF. Different TV brands have different names for CEC. For instance, Samsung calls it Anynet+, LG calls it SIMPLINK, and Sony calls it Bravia Sync.

5. Check ARC/eARC Settings
Your TV may have a setting to turn ARC or eARC On or Off. If this setting is turned off, try turning it on.

6. Use the Correct HDMI Cable
Make sure you are using the HDMI cable that was included with the ZVOX. Some older HDMI cables may be incompatible with ARC. If you need to purchase a new HDMI cable, make sure it is version 2.1 or higher.
7. Power Cycle Both Devices
Power cycle both the TV and ZVOX. Power off both the ZVOX and TV using their remotes, then unplug the power cables from the wall outlet or power strip. Wait a few minutes, then plug the power cables back in. After both devices power up, try the ZVOX out and see if it is working.
8. Check for Device Interference
Another piece of equipment in your setup may be preventing the ZVOX from working with the TV. Unplug the other devices plugged into the HDMI jacks on your TV. After you unplug each device, test the ZVOX. If the ZVOX starts working, you will know what device interfered with the function of the ZVOX. Try turning CEC off on the device that is interfering.
