The Magic Remote is one of the more difficult remotes to program.  There is almost always a way but it takes time and trial and error.  Below are the basic steps you need to take.  The big problem is the menu system on LG TV's varies from year to year so it is hard to say how the menus are going to look on your TV.

What we are doing is setting the Zvox to PS-1 this will allow it to respond to a Sony remote.  After doing that we will go into the TV's settings and tell it you have a Sony Soundbar and you would like to control the Soundbars volume with the Magic Remote.

1) First you will need to set the Zvox to PS-1 (Sony), follow the below instructions.

For Zvox Soundbase models use the physical buttons on the front panel of the ZVOX Audio speaker:

a) While the speaker is ON Press and hold down the Mute & Volume Up buttons until you see “PS” on the display.
b) Release the buttons
c) Press and release the Volume Up button until you see “PS-1” (Sony Emulation Mode)
d) Wait until the “PS-1” display disappears.

For Zvox systems with the Other Settings Button on remote:

While the speaker is ON press and hold Other Settings for 5 seconds until PS-0 starts flashing then release and adjust with the remotes volume button, move it to PS-1 (Sony Emulation Mode).

For SB Soundbars (SB380, SB400, SB500, SB700, ver 1 AV200, AV205):

a) While the speaker is ON Press and hold down the Mute & Volume Up buttons on the right side of the speaker until you see “PS” on the display.
b) Release the buttons.
c) Press and release the Volume Up button until you see “PS-1” (Sony Emulation Mode)
d) Wait until the “PS-1” display disappears.

2) The next step is telling the LG TV that you have a Sony Soundbar and you would like the Magic Remote to control it.
Find the Device Connector / External Devices setting on the LG TV.  Then tell it that you have a Soundbar connected via the optical jack.  It will then ask you for the manufacturer.  Don't pick Zvox, pick Sony instead.  In the past we have found that "Sony Remote Option 8" or "Sony Candidate Model 18" works well with our speakers.

If you can not find the "Device Connector" it may be because you have a more recent LG TV.  This setting may be called "External Devices".  Follow the below steps to find the correct menu.

a. General Settings

b. External Devices

c. Universal Control Setup

d. Optical Settings

e. Manage Settings

Note: At one point in the programing the LG TV will ask you to test the power button on the remote.  DON'T PRESS THE POWER BUTTON.  It wants you to select the power button icon on the screen and then press the ok/select button on the Magic Remote.  If the Zvox turns off or on when you do this say it worked.  This will make more sense when you see the step on the TV.

Note: On some LG TV's you need to tell it you have the soundbar connected to an HDMI jack or AV in.  After you complete the programing you will need to go back and change the connecting method to Optical from HDMI/AV IN.  A PDF is attached that shows the steps needed on these TV's.

Note: These instructions will work on most current Zvox models.  They will not work on the AV100, AV102, AV110, and the AV120.
