Samsung Smart Remote Programming Instructions

Your Samsung TV's Universal Remote feature lets your Samsung Smart Remote control the volume on your ZVOX. Before you begin, make sure your ZVOX is connected to your TV's audio output and powered on.

Note: These instructions are for Samsung TVs that have Universal Remote under the Sources menu. If your TV's home screen has a Connected Devices option, please use our Samsung Solar, Voice, or Smart Remote 

Part 1: Add Your ZVOX as a Home Theater System

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote and select Sources.
  2. Select Universal Remote, then select New Device.
  3. Choose Home Theater System as the device type.
  4. Press Enter on the search field, type ZVOX, and select ZVOX from the results.
  5. On the Home Theater Configuration screen, select Optical.
  6. Select Power Test and point your Samsung remote at the ZVOX.

Important: Use the Enter button to start the Power Test. Do not press the Power button on your Samsung remote during this step.

  1. If your ZVOX turns on or off during the test, answer the onscreen question to confirm it responded.
  2. On the Setup Complete screen, select Done.


Part 2: Link Your Sources to the ZVOX

  1. Go back into Universal Remote Setup.
  2. For each source listed that you want to use with your ZVOX, select it, press Enter, and choose "Use with Home Theater System."


Test Your Remote

Back out of the menu, point your Samsung remote at the ZVOX, and press the volume buttons. The ZVOX should respond.
