Subwoofer Integration with SB Series Soundbars
When adding a powered subwoofer to your SB series soundbar, proper frequency coordination ensures optimal performance and seamless audio integration.
Compatibility Note: The SB380 and early versions of the SB400, SB500, and SB700 do not include a subwoofer output.
Recommended Settings:
- Subwoofer crossover frequency: 85-95 Hz (good starting point - adjust to your liking)
- ZVOX soundbar setting: PS-31 (80 Hz high-pass filter)
Benefits of PS-31 Setting: Setting your ZVOX soundbar to PS-31 provides two key advantages:
- Clean frequency transition - The 80 Hz cutoff creates a smooth handoff between your soundbar and subwoofer.
- Improved amplifier efficiency - By filtering out low frequencies, more power is available for the left, right, and center channels, enhancing dialogue clarity and overall performance.
To activate PS-31:
- Turn the speaker on.
- Press and hold both the Power button and Volume Up button on the right side of the speaker simultaneously.
- Hold for 5 seconds until "PS-#" begins flashing on the display.
- Immediately release both buttons and press the Volume Up button on the speaker, not the remote repeatedly until "PS-31" appears on the display, then wait for the display to stop flashing.
This configuration optimizes your system for the best possible audio experience when using an external subwoofer.
