Roku Stick Remote Programming Instructions

These instructions will set up your Roku Streaming Stick remote to control your ZVOX using the ZVOX remote learning mode. Setup takes two steps: setting up the Roku remote to control your TV, then teaching your ZVOX the Roku remote’s commands.

Important: These instructions work with Roku remotes that use infrared (IR). They will not work with Roku RF remotes, and most Roku Voice Remotes are RF remotes. If you have a Roku RF remote (Voice Remote), you may need a ZVOX with HDMI ARC/eARC compatibility. Currently, our HDMI ARC/eARC compatible models are the AV455, AV835, and AV855. Your TV will also need to be HDMI ARC/eARC compatible. When using HDMI ARC/eARC with your ZVOX and TV, these steps are not needed, since remote programming is automatic.


Step 1: Set Up the Roku Remote to Control Your TV

This step is only needed for some Roku Stick remotes. On your Roku, go to Settings > Remotes & devices > Remotes, select your remote, then select Set up remote for TV control. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish programming the remote. If you don’t see this menu, move on to Step 2.


Step 2: Teach Your ZVOX the Roku Remote Commands

Next, put your ZVOX into learning mode and teach it the commands from your Roku remote. Click the link below that matches your ZVOX model for step-by-step learning instructions.

Note: Most ZVOX models support learning mode, but not all of them do. If your model isn’t listed above, contact us and we can help you find the best option.

Note: Some Roku Stick remotes don’t have a mute button. If yours doesn’t, when the learning process asks for the mute button and the power button, use your TV or cable remote for those two steps instead.
