Hanging Your ZVOX From a Wall Mounted TV

A soundbar hanger bracket attaches to your TV's wall mount, and the ZVOX hangs from the bracket below the TV. Your ZVOX will need mounting points on the back to work with one, either keyhole slots or threaded inserts. Our Soundbase models and some of our AccuVoice TV speakers are not compatible because they have no mounting points, although those products may still work with a shelf style hanger bracket, which forms a small shelf under the TV that the speaker sits on.


The instructions below are written around the Sanus SA405, though they should apply to most soundbar hanger brackets on the market, since they all work in basically the same way. Some brackets come with all the hardware you need and others do not.

Hardware

The hardware below is what we recommend for a ZVOX with keyhole slots on the back. If you are using the Sanus SA405, you will likely need to pick these items up from the hardware store.

  • 2x 1/4-20 bolts, about 1.5" to 2" long (make sure the bolt head is large enough to securely capture the keyhole hanger slot on the ZVOX, but not so large that it won't fit through the slot opening)
  • 2x fender washers
  • 2x lock washers
  • 2x 1/4-20 butterfly nuts

ZVOX products with threaded inserts come with screws that will work in most cases, though depending on the bracket you may still need a few washers.


Assembly Steps

  1. Attach the hanger bracket to your TV's wall mount. Follow the instructions that came with your bracket, since the attachment method varies from one bracket to the next.
  2. Place the fender washer on the bolt to spread out the contact area against the bracket arm. The fender washers may not be strictly necessary, but they can help prevent the ZVOX from angling downward toward the floor.
  3. On the opposite side of the bracket arm, add the lock washer followed by the butterfly nut.


Attached are several pictures of a ZVOX mounted on a Sanus SA405 soundbar hanger bracket. Many similar soundbar hanger brackets are available online from sites like Amazon and Walmart.

Please note: Make sure both your TV and your ZVOX are mounted securely before leaving them unattended. Check that your wall mount is rated for the combined weight and that it is anchored properly. If you are unsure about any part of this, it is best to hire a professional AV installer.
